St. Faustina and St. Bakhita
A Reflection by Rebecca Keller
I feel the saints are our heavenly friends that God allows to continue to help us in our journey. They each have so many talents and treasures to share through their continued love for each of us. For this reason, I would say that St Faustina would be my closest friend, she helps me to better understand Jesus' heart. Since my friendship with her has grown, she has introduced me to more of her friends, ( I love when that happens!) Recently, it was a gentle introduction of the beautiful Saint Bakhita. Through her story, I have been able to learn more about Joy in suffering, Trust in God's promises, and again with her friendship with Faustina, the beautiful gift of Forgiveness and Mercy! There is an amazing movie out on Bakhita's life that I wish everyone would be able to watch and enjoy. If anyone is interested it can be found on the Catholic Shop website as Bakhita From Slave to Saint, a DVD by Ignatius Press.
Thank you Rebecca for your reflection!
