Prayer: A Pillar of Lent
By Father Daniel Okafor
In Lent, we take up the practice of Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. Today's Gospel reading takes us into the first element, Prayer. Jesus, in teaching his disciple and us how to pray, tells us not to BABBLE.
So much has been written on the Lord's Prayer (Our Father). In all, it is an invitation to enter into the depth of our heart while speaking and listening to God.
The thing is that we need to pray constantly without ceasing, and always (Lk 18:1, 1 Thes 5:17). It is like medicine and food. We need to eat and perhaps take our medication to remain healthy. The same applies to our Christian life.
Father Daniel expands on this message in his homily from Tuesday, February 23 - Listen HERE.
